Rickey Mitchell is a retired Lieutenant of the Miami-Dade County Police Department, with a remarkable 25-year career of serving the community he calls home. In addition to his law enforcement background, Mitchell has successfully run a privately owned funeral home business for the past 36 years, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the community in various ways. With a diverse educational background, including a B.S. in Criminal Justice, a M.S. degree, a Juris Doctor in Law, and a Ph.D in Higher Education, Mitchell brings a multidimensional perspective to the table. If elected as Sheriff, he aims to prioritize public safety, promote community collaboration, and implement effective policing strategies to address the unique needs of Miami-Dade County.
